Of a Girl and Her Dreams

Crossing her fingers, she wishes upon the brightest star,
She believes that all her wishes are going to come true;
Kneeling on her knees, she sincerely prays to God,
She knows that her prayer would be realized someday.

Cuddling her teddy, she walks into dreamland,
She could do whatever she wanted and be whoever she wanted to be;
Upon waking up, she returns to reality,
She faces the real world alone and knows that it's her fate to do so.

No one ever tries to understand her,
Everyone is occupied with their own lives;
Caring is the only thing she doesn't receive in her life,
But that's what she really needed the most.
